As the past few years have proven, DC isn’t far from bringing some version of the Joker to the big screen. And Joaquin Phoenix (clown) and Barry Kogan (Batman) had to bring their version to their unique DC Universe where Jared Leto became the Clown Prince of Crime in the DC Extended Universe.
Unfortunately, Leto’s Joker doesn’t have a ton of footage to work with, and he saw less than ten minutes of screen time in total during his 2016 show Suicide Squad. although he has a chance to reprise the role in 2021 Zack Snyder’s Justice Leaguehe only appeared on screen in the film’s final scene after being teased during the film’s promotional tour.
Even considering the less-than-ideal hand he was dealt, Leto often talked about how much he enjoyed bringing this iconic DC character to life.
Now, more than a year since he last starred in a DC movie, Leto once again looks back on his time in the role in a positive light.
Leto wants to return as DC Joker

role in both Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League is something Leto proudly looks back on, especially given the opportunity “Do it twice:”
“This role is a lifetime opportunity. I got a chance to do it twice.”
When asked if he would like to play the role again when another Joker rises from the shadows Batman Universe, Leto said in a classic response, “never say Never.”
Leto is known for his characters diving into the abyss, and he will feel that in his heart once filming is over.Whether it’s the Joker or Mobius, he sees them as “The Living, Breathing Man” Acknowledging never to visit those characters again would disappoint him:
“To me, they’re like living, breathing people. I know they’re not, of course, but I’m attached. It’s a shame to never do it again.”
Will the DCEU revisit the Joker?
Currently, Jared Leto is not contractually obligated to play the Joker again, and it doesn’t appear that the DCEU will reprise the role in any of its upcoming films.Barry Keoghan plays role in Robert Pattinson film Batman with james gunn Suicide Squad Omitting the Joker entirely, it may take a while for Leto to get another chance in the role.
Even if the future is uncertain, it’s clear Leto is going all out to bring the classic Batman antagonist back to this universe.
Right now, Leto’s focus is on the Marvel universe, thanks to his Mobius, gave him another terrifying character to embody Sony’s vision of living vampires. But if Warner Bros. decides to cast Leto as the pale psychopath in another DC story, the man behind the Joker will be the first to bring the character back.
